Privacy Policy

This is a courtesy translation. In case of discrepancies, the German version prevails.

1. General information

Protecting your personal data matters to us. We process your data exclusively on the basis of the applicable legal provisions (GDPR, Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021).

2. Hosting

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA) and delivered via its content delivery network; our database and uploaded files are stored with Supabase (servers located in the EU). When you visit the site, technical data (IP address, browser type, date and time of access) is automatically processed in server log files. This is technically necessary in order to provide the website (legal basis: legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Data processing agreements are in place with Vercel and Supabase; where data is transferred to the USA, this is based on the EU standard contractual clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

3. Contact form

If you contact us through the contact form, we process the details you provide (name, email address, optionally phone number, message) in order to handle your enquiry. Your enquiry is stored in our own database with Supabase in the EU (see point 2) and is accessible only to us via a password-protected admin area. In addition, we send ourselves an email notification: for this, your browser transmits the details you entered to the delivery service Web3Forms (STARTUPHUB TECHNOLOGIES), which delivers the message to our mailbox. Beyond this service provider, we do not pass your data on. Legal basis: steps prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required to handle your enquiry.

4. Job applications

If you apply through the application form on our careers page, we process the details you provide (name, email address, optionally phone number, preferred field, optionally a link to your portfolio or LinkedIn, message) exclusively in order to process your application. Storage and email delivery work exactly as for the contact form: in our own database with Supabase in the EU and via the delivery service Web3Forms (STARTUPHUB TECHNOLOGIES). The legal basis is taking steps prior to entering into an employment relationship (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Beyond these service providers we do not pass your data on, and we delete it no later than six months after the application process ends, unless you are hired or have expressly agreed to longer storage.

5. Contact by email, phone or WhatsApp

If you contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp, we process your data in order to handle your enquiry. When you use WhatsApp, the privacy terms of WhatsApp (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) apply in addition.

6. Fonts

This website uses locally hosted fonts. No data is transferred to third parties in the process.

7. Cookies and tracking

This website does not use tracking cookies.

To measure reach we use Umami Analytics in the hosted version provided by Umami Software, Inc. (USA). Your browser session loads an analytics script from cloud.umami.is; in doing so, technical access data (page visited, referrer, browser, device type and approximate location) is transmitted to that service and analysed there. Umami works without cookies, does not build cross-site profiles and does not store IP addresses in plain text; we only ever see the results in aggregated form. As the provider is based in the USA, the data is transferred there. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in privacy-friendly reach measurement (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

For our password-protected admin area we use a technically necessary session cookie. It is used solely to sign in our own team members and is never used for analytics.

8. Your rights

You have the right to information, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, withdrawal of consent and objection. To exercise these rights, simply write to the email address given above.

If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority: www.dsb.gv.at
